There are many examples present in nature and our everyday surroundings. The main intention to focus on the above examples was to create awareness of the essential ways to replicate the way the golden ratio is present in nature. So following are the pointers

Thanks to Leonardo Pisano Bigollo, well known as Leonardo Fibonacci.

He was an Italian mathematician from the Republic of Pisa, who proposed a mathematical sequence which then turned out to bring golden ratio into existence.

The Fibonacci series is built as follows

a, b, (a+b)…

The next number in the series is generated by simply adding the preceding two numbers in series. So the series will be as follows

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, 377… and so on.

The Golden Ratio is developed from Fibonacci series in the following way

So considering any two adjacent numbers in the Fibonacci series we can see that the golden ratio (1.618) is achieved

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34…

From the above sequence lets consider 13 and 21

So 13+21 = 33

34/21 = 1.619

Now that we have come to a similar page where we understood the existence of golden ratio in Nature around us. Let us move forward to

Why do we (Human Designers) use golden ratio in our work?

As human beings, we still are born on Earth (not yet on Mars or …) and from childhood, we have been surrounded with nature, people (our own body) and things which knowingly or unknowingly are following the golden ratio. We have been looking at them, observing them and in our subconscious mind storing them as the references.

Now the role of Designers is very critical. They have to please their client or customer by creating “mesmerizing designs” (that’s what my clients expect from me!)

And for doing this we cunningly use the tool that has been mesmerizing them (or probably you also) since the childhood. And, that is GOLDEN RATIO.

I don’t know if the designers from other world are still using them, because maybe their clients have not been brought up with the things that follow the golden ratio. (I will have to ask that to the Thanos’s designer, but they are busy in destruction. Uhhh!)
